Objectives:
Self-protection decree 82/2010 of June 29, approves the catalog of activities and centers obliged to adopt self-protection measures and sets the content of these measures, and also establishes that self-protection plans can be drawn up exclusively technicians accredited for that purpose.

The COAATT, as an accreditation center for the Generalitat de Catalunya, trains technicians to obtain the relevant accreditations.

There are two levels of accreditation:
- The "local area or level C": allows the implementation of the SELF-PROTECTION PLANS that the decree includes in this category, and which are activities of lower risk, by occupation or by type of activity, and which are reviewed in the Town hall of the municipality itself.
- The "Catalan scope or AB level": includes all other activities with a more general scope, because of the risk they entail or because of the occupation they have. These self-protection plans are reviewed by the civil protection department of the Generalitat de Catalunya, and to obtain it it is essential to have training in the local area or level C.
Any person with a university degree can access this accreditation, although the nature of the work carried out, or declines towards technicians in the construction or industrial sector.

As it is a mandatory decree, obtaining this accreditation opens up a new, more specialized and well-recognised field of work. Often the drafting of self-protection plans can be linked to the drafting of activity projects and their maintenance.

The duration of the course is 140 hours, 40 of which will be face-to-face and the rest work and deepening, and will be taught on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, according to the program.

Specialist teachers in each of the fields to be developed.
