[Technical Conference] New RIPCI: Regulation of Fire Protection Facilities

Presentation:	If we look back 25 years and we think about the technique and technology of that time, it causes vertigo to think about the degree of evolution that has occurred since then: industrial sector, automotive, information technology, etc. For this reason it is difficult to assume that during all this time the PCI facilities have had to be regulated by the same regulation. In this regard, the approval of the new RIPCI (Regulation of fire protection facilities) through Royal Decree 513/2017 allows manufacturers of active fire protection systems to finally have a more updated regulation. However, it must be said that once again the opportunity to regulate passive protection systems has been lost, an issue still to be resolved in the basic legislation of the State, since the main regulations that protect measures against fires (CTE and RSICIEI) do not establish how to execute them, which means: a high level of specialization is required for installers of active fire protection equipment and systems, and, on the other hand, it is not for Attention in the industrialist who executes the passive measures.
