"FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS FOR ASPIRATION ASD

The disappearance of halons by legal imperative, has forced the revision of fire protection techniques in the risks and enclosures usually protected with these extinguishing agents

In the market have appeared with greater or lesser degree of acceptance diveroso extinction systems based on clean agents, (halocarbons or inert gases), aerosols and water mist

A factor common to all of them, universally accepted and standardized, is the use of early detection systems by aspiration or ASD systems. Its use has been regulated in the different regulations and its use grows every day in the protection of telecommunication risks, museums, environments with high degrees of ventilation, too high ceilings, high-rise storage, "clean rooms" and a long etcetera

However, professional knowledge of this technology is still very limited. Currently, several standards that will regulate the design, installation and maintenance of these systems are in draft phase. These conditions limit the correct use of these systems by specifiers, installers and users in general

APICI has organized during the past year 2003, a good number of seminars and conferences on the topic "Criteria for selection of alternative protection systems to halons", in which for reasons of space could not be treated these systems of early detection by aspiration , which are a fundamental part, in their own right, of the current protection technologies, both in the world of halons and in that of fire protection in general

ASEPEYO has organized a series of conferences on the protection of fires without halons with objectives coinciding with those of APICI.

On this occasion, APICI in collaboration with ASEPEYO, organize this conference on "Systems of early detection of fires by aspiration" with the common objective of putting in knowledge of the assistants to the Conference, the technical information of these systems, their design norms , installation and maintenance, and the analysis of its main applications, and also to complement the days already implemented

The correct knowledge of this relatively new and different technology makes it convenient to have during its presentation the availability and close analysis of the different equipment used in this way with the discussion of specific applications and installations. In the Seminar a technical presentation and practical demonstration of the VESDA equipment will be made, as well as the project tools, and a technical dossier and a calculation software valid for the calculation of this type of facilities will be delivered to each assistant.

The presentation will expose the new regulations that regulate the design and installation of these systems (Draft EN-20) as well as the practice guides

The day is directed with special interest to managers, project technicians, and people with responsibilities in the field of prevention and fire safety in factories, telecommunication centers, warehouses, hospitals, museums, etc.

The Conference will be held at the ASEPEYO PREVENTION CENTER, Avenida Alcalde Bernirls, s / n - 08190 Sant Cugat del Vallès (Barcelona), with the following program:
