In 2000, the 1st Congress of Catalan Language Engineers, organized by the Catalan Engineering and Culture Association (EiCC), was held in Manresa, which brought together more than 300 professionals to discuss the relationships between engineering and sustainability. between engineering and the society of information and knowledge
Four years later, EiCC convenes the Second Engineering Congress, which will take place in Andorra in November 2004, and aims to bring together engineers working in the business of Mediterranean Arc Institute (Valencian Country, Catalonia, Andorra and the Balearic Islands). Will bring together the professionals of the various engineering specialties that are interested in deepening the social impact of their professional activities interdisciplinarily. Congress wants to bring together professionals from the various engineering specialties that work in the business and institutions of the Mediterranean Arc (Valencian Country, Catalonia, Andorra and the Balearic Islands), who wish to deepen into the social impact of engineering.
It will focus on two specific areas, but at the same time broad enough to generate a transdisciplinary debate:
* Engineering and globalization
* Engineering and territorial development
And it is posed with the following objectives:
* Debut technically and professionally the implications of engineering in the conformation of the territory and the evolution of society at the beginning of the 21st century
* Addressing the social and environmental impacts of specific projects and infrastructures in our territory, in a globalized world that tends towards relocation of economic activity of economic activity
* Analyze the role of engineering in European construction and in the process of global globalization
* To pool the professional experiences of engineers and engineers from the various territorial areas
On the other hand, the Congress is configured with the will to grow and to conform a wide network of professionals of the nginyeria with enthusiasm and sense of the social, ethical and cultural responsibility
