Speaker:

Miquel Barceló, Doctor of Industrial Engineering and Technical Engineer from the Polytechnic University and Degree in Economics from the University of Barcelona. He has extensive professional experience in the private sector and in public administration. He was General Director of the ICT Private Foundation (1987-1999), Member of the Parliament of Catalonia (1999-2004), Executive President of the company 22 @ Barcelona (2004-2007). He is currently President of the consulting firm Innopro Global Services and European Union expert DGRegio for the RIS3 program. He is the author of several books, most notably The Digital City (2002); Catalonia, an industrial country (2003) and Complex Project Management (2013). He is currently Director of the MBI (Master in Business Innovation) at the UPC.

Targets:

Today, cities compete globally to attract talent and competitive investment, the role of urban clusters, fostering innovation and creativity. The book Innocities will be presented, which will explain the basic concepts and criteria for designing, developing and managing an Innovative District in a city.
