Targets: | Professional ethics is a system of self-regulation that is endowed with a professional corporation that, on behalf of the company, has recognized its own attributions in a certain field, in order to guarantee that it exercises them with a sense of responsibility and focusing on the defense of the general interest. Deontology as an applied ethic is common to every profession. However, its rules may be made explicit in different Codes depending on the cultures, countries or professional associations in which the profession is practiced. It allows professionals to self-regulate their own behaviors, control them and demand them from their own professional group, contributing to the prestige and honorability of the professionals themselves and because, in many cases, they are the only guarantee (rather than the law itself) of defense of the citizens affected by the behaviors of a professional. For all this it is absolutely necessary that in the education, especially in the university education, explained a discipline of Professional Deontology. |
