Programming: | Within the program of the day on electric batteries that is organized on December 1 (Thursday) , we have organized this technical visit to the Wallbox plant. Recently opened, it not only designs and produces the box of the chargers, they also include an intelligent system to optimize charging and where the computer system is able to charge based on the current electricity tariff, and it is also bidirectional: it can charge the car, but also use the vehicle's batteries to store self-produced energy if there is excess, and return it to the grid when necessary. Itinerary of the visit 08.15 h Departure by coach from Tarragona. Free service 10.00 a.m. Arrival and visit to the Wallbox plant. We will do a general tour of the plant going through logistics, production and quality. We will also have the opportunity to see the validation laboratory. 12:00 p.m. Return. Wallbox is one of the first startups to set up shop here and hopes that its technological activity will allow the area to be renewed and revitalized. This new plant has involved an investment of approximately 9 million euros. Currently, it employs 203 people but it is planned that, when it is operating at maximum capacity and operating in 3 shifts, it will employ more than 520. In total, the plant has four production lines: two dedicated to manufacturing Prémer+ chargers, Copper , Commander2 and Quasar for Europe and another that produces Prémer and UL for the North American market. The fourth line is intended to exclusively manufacture the Supernova, Wallbox's first public charger. These are automated production lines at the forefront of production processes, designed so that a customer receives their charger in just 72 hours (this is the time that passes between an order being approved and it being issued to the end customer) . Currently, the new Wallbox factory in Barcelona produces almost 1,200 chargers per day. The new Wallbox factory in Barcelona is being put into operation just over a year after the company and the Free Zone Consortium signed the 10-year lease of the land. Built on a plot of 16,800 m², the factory has 11,220 m2. This area is occupied by an office area, a warehouse for materials, another for chargers already produced and about to be shipped, the production lines and a validation area. Wallbox is a company manufacturing electric vehicle chargers. They are dedicated to changing the way the world uses energy. At Wallbox, we not only manufacture but also create advanced energy management and electric vehicle charging systems that redefine users' relationship with the power grid. We have a wide portfolio of energy and load management solutions for residential, business and public use.* It was founded in 2015 and has production plants in the USA, Spain and China, offices in 9 countries and clients in more than 80 countries. |
