An outing to HORTA DE SANT JOAN has been organized, which includes a guided tour of the Picassian spaces.
This departure will take place on May 30 (Saturday ) and the program is as follows:
9:00 am Departure from the Imperial Tàrraco Square (opposite the University).
09.30 am Departure from Reus, Paseo Mata (before the residence of the pensioners).
10:00 am Departure from Tortosa, fish market.
11.15 a.m. Arrival at Horta de Sant Joan.
11.30 am Guided tour of Horta de Sant Joan.
14.15 pm Lunch at the Hotel Restaurant Les Capçades.
4.30 pm Return with the corresponding stops.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Horta de Sant Joan is a municipality of the region of Terra Alta, located on a hill at 543 m high, surrounded by fields and with a territory of 119 km2 in size.
To the north of the district there is the Pesells mountain range and to the south, the Ports Natural Park, which houses natural spaces of great beauty. The Algars river constitutes its western limit, the Canaletes river drains the eastern sector and the Estrets river to the south.
The main economic activities are dry farming, livestock farming, small commerce, and small construction and manufacturing companies, but companies that revolve around tourism become increasingly important as an asset for the future.
Guided visit: ers will visit the old quarter and the picassian spaces, entrance to the center of Picasso d'Horta, old jail of Horta and lookout point of the Natural Park of the Ports and the Parot (olimbre bimilenario).
Possibility to visit the Convent of San Salvador.
