PREPARATION OF CHEMICAL STORAGE PROJECTS

CIRCULAR CODE: 11-17

A course on ELABORATION OF CHEMICAL STORAGE PROJECTS has been organized . REIAL DECREE 379/2001 AND ITS TECHNICAL INSTRUCTIONS.

The OBJECTIVE of the course is that attendees have the practical resolution of some types of projects of this specialty, which will guide them to the development of other analog projects.

The focus of the course is to dedicate some time to theoretical concepts to situate the legislative and technical framework and then solve the practical cases together.

DIRECTED TO: professionals who have basic knowledge and wish to have a practical view of the Regulation.

COURSE PROGRAM (20 hours):

March 21st

- Theoretical concepts
Reference legislation in chemical storage (Catalan and State)
Classification of dangerous substances
Administrative process to be carried out to legalize storage facilities
Administrative documents that must contain a chemical storage project
Inspection companies (OCA) in Catalonia (former EIC). Role of the State and Catalan Administration.

March 23rd

- RD 379/01 of April 6 approving the Regulation of storage of chemical products.
Facilities affected. Scope of application and chemical products without ITC. Resolution of practical cases.

- MIE-APQ 1 Storage of flammable and combustible liquids
Storage facilities in fixed tanks, storage facilities in mobile containers. Application thresholds and types of products that must comply with this ITC. Technical requirements that must comply with these facilities and documentation justifying the projects of legalization of storage facilities.
Resolution of practical cases

March 28th

- MIE APQ 6 Storage of corrosive liquids
Storage facilities in fixed tanks, storage facilities in mobile containers. Application thresholds and types of products that must comply with this ITC. Technical requirements that must comply with these facilities and documentation justifying the projects of legalization of storage facilities.
Resolution of practical cases

- MIE APQ 7 Storage of toxic liquids
Storage facilities in fixed tanks, storage facilities in mobile containers. Application thresholds and types of products that must comply with this ITC. Technical prescriptions that must meet the storage facilities and documentation justifying the projects of legalization of storage facilities.

March 29th

- MIE APQ 5 Storage and use of compressed, liquefied and dissolved gas bottles
Pressure bottles storage facilities. Types and categories of warehouse. Technical requirements that must be met by these facilities and documentation justifying the legalization project.
Resolution of practical cases.

- MIE APQ 9 Storage of organic peroxides
Types of storage facilities for organic peroxides. Application thresholds and types of products that must comply with this ITC. Technical prescriptions that must meet the storage facilities and documentation justifying the projects of legalization of storage facilities. Resolution of practical cases.

March 30th

- MIE -APQ 2 Storage of ethylene oxide
Installations for storage of ethylene oxide. Types of installations and application thresholds.

- MIE - APQ 3 Chlorine storage
Chlorine storage facilities. Types of installations and application thresholds

- MIE -APQ 4 Storage of anhydrous ammonia
Storage facilities of anhydrous ammonia. Types of installations and application thresholds.

Joint resolution of a practical case in which the different concepts treated in the course on the legalization of chemical storage facilities can be applied.
