The Palau de la Generalitat is located in the center of what was the important Jewish quarter of Barcelona. Most of this group of houses belonged to the doctor and Jewish surgeon Bonjuhà Cabrit. At his death, the family, conversation, left the house and this happened first at the hands of the son of a royal treasurer. Later, he acquired the songwriter Pere Brunet, who finally sold it to three deputies in 1400.

The cleric Alfons de Tous, the horseman Jaume Marc and the citizen Ramon Desplà acquired the farm for 38,500 salaries to receive and build in this space the Delegation of the General, complying with a decision of the Cortes of Cervera from the year 1359 in order to To endow this institution permanently.

The building expanded over the years, gaining space and a monumental category. The extensions, however, were not the result of aesthetic whims, but very soon they became a necessity for all those who worked here: deputies, writers, doormen, account regents, lawyers, listeners, archivists ...

Now, after six centuries, the current president of the Generalitat de Catalunya and his closest collaborators have in his palace his office.

Casa Batlló
, the masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí, a modernist facade building, which reflects a calm sea, hides a whole world of surprises and refined architectural details. Its extreme design with a large repertoire of virtual solutions that it offers, in every small corner you will discover something amazing, details full of life that will undoubtedly fascinate everyone who likes what is fantastic.

The visit includes the legendary Noble Plant (former residence of the Batlló family), the Golfes (the old storage rooms and laundry areas), the rooftop and mythical chimneys (where is the famous spine of the dragon defeated by Sant Jordi) and the fabulous patio of lights (the old stairs of neighbors).
