In Reus and Tarragona, during the last months of 2015 and the first months of the year 2016, engineers of the Technical Commissions of the CETIT and technicians of the City Council, accompanied by a social integrator, have visited the 25 homes preselected, according to the technical and social criteria established by the work groups of the Energy Poverty Board of Tarragona and Reus, in order to carry out basic audits.

The preselected families of Reus and Tarragona receive the inspection of the members of the technical commission for energy poverty in order to analyze the current situation of the home and plan actions to improve energy efficiency.

The city councils of Tarragona and Reus and the College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona (CETIT) signed a collaboration agreement in October 2015 to carry out these energy audits in homes of people in situation of Economic vulnerability without any economic benefit on the part of the ENGINEERS of the CETIT technical commissions

An agreement that is framed within the lines of work established in the Table of the Energy Poverty of Tarragona and Reus established last summer and whose main objective is to guarantee access to the energy consumption of people with insufficient resources.

With these audits, the use that people make of the energy and the state of the houses and the technicians are detected, they propose measures of energy saving and improvement of energy efficiency. Then, the proposed measures are executed such as training for changes in habits and use, improvements in closures and insulation, changes in lighting, etc.

The objective that is to be achieved is "to sensitize the population as a whole to the convenience of making an efficient and sustainable use of energy, which can favor citizenship from a point of view of the improvement of the environment as well as economic savings ".
