Barcelona, permanent headquarters of the International Association of Quality Agencies, INQAAHE, with the support of AQU Catalunya

The International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) is an international association that brings together more than 300 organizations working for the quality assurance of higher education, mostly quality agencies.

INQAAHE has chosen to settle in Barcelona, where it will have the support of AQU Catalunya. The candidacy presented by AQU Catalunya has had the support of the Government of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Spanish State.

The President of AQU Catalunya, Josep Joan Moreso, said that "we are very honored by the decision of INQAAHE, to whom we would like to thank for the trust it has placed in the Agency to establish itself in Barcelona permanently" and believes that the INQAAHE decision “is very good news for the Catalan Agency, but also for Catalonia, Spain and Europe, because it positions them as a benchmark in the field of improving the quality of education superior ».

The Minister for Business and Knowledge, Ramon Tremosa, celebrated the election of AQU Catalunya as the permanent headquarters of INQAAHE. A decision that, he said, "is a recognition of the perseverance, rigor and excellence of AQU Catalunya, which has contributed to positioning the Catalan university system among the most solid at the international level."

The Minister of Universities, Manuel Castells, stated that "AQU Catalunya will be an excellent host, as it is one of the most valued agencies in Europe, and has the necessary capabilities to give good support to INQAAHE". Thus, also, the Minister emphasizes that "INQAAHE is located in Barcelona, considered one of the most notable cities in the world in terms of standard of living, a city of Art, Science and Culture."
