The Day of the College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona gathers 250 people in Montblanc

Last Saturday, November 6, the city of Montblanc hosted CETIT Day, after a period in which due to the coronavirus pandemic we engineers could not meet. The morning was dedicated to a visit for those people who wanted it in the town of Montblanc, in order to enjoy its architectural treasure and the history of its walls and places.

The church of Sant Francesc was the space that hosted the protocol act of the Day as well as the lunch between all the assistants and the musical performance that finished with this day. The opening of the event had the words of the dean, Anton Escarré, who, in a vindictive tone, explained the role of the school and highlighted the actions of services that it does to the public. The former mayor Josep Gomis and the vice-rector of the URV, Dr. Domènec Puig, also held their parliaments during the initial event.

One of the projects we wanted to highlight was the collaboration of CETIT with URVoltage Racing, an association of students who participate in the MotoStudent and who have our support.

To continue the event, the Lluís Roca Garcia end-of-career awards were presented. The president of the Council of Colleges of Graduate Engineers and Industrial Technical Engineers of Catalonia presented the two awards to Arnau Escarihuela Alcoverro, for the project of a mountain bike frame with double suspension and to Pol Vilanova Font for the mobile stirrup project for passenger access to railway wagons.

Rubén Folgado, President of the AEQT continued with the parliaments to give way to the delivery of the Innovation and Sustainability award, in its second edition, which went to the company Biometagas de la Galera. Fernando Selva, CEO received the award from Joan Gabriel Talarn, Vice Dean of CETIT and Erika Recio, representing the MUPITI.

The president of the General Council of Colleges of Industrial Technical Engineers, Antonio Galdón made an emotional speech before we handed out the awards to the members who have been with us for 25 and 50 years. Representing the 25-year-old members, Josep Maria Pàmies, vice-dean of CETIT, held a brief parliament. On the part of the 50-year-old members, it was Manel Albertón who spoke on behalf of everyone and who gave us some of his good humor.

The parliament of the mayor of Montblanc Sr. Josep Andreu put an end to the protocol acts of this emotional Diada.

To end the day a lunch in the Church of St. Francis, an incomparable environment and the performance of Feina Rai ended a necessary and important day for our organization.
