The European Sustainable Energy Awards (EUSEW Awards) competition highlights the success of recently completed or ongoing projects and activities, as well as individual and collective actions in the field of energy efficiency and renewable energies.
There are three award categories: Innovation, Local Energy Action and Women in Energy:
- The EUSEW Innovation Award recognizes outstanding ongoing or recently completed projects funded by the EU that show an original and innovative path towards the clean energy transition.
- The EUSEW Local Energy Action Award recognizes sustainable energy actions implemented, driven by a group of citizens or consumers (associated with a municipality or other interest groups), which contribute to the clean energy transition at community or local level .
- The EUSEW Woman in Energy Award recognizes women who lead outstanding activities that, if replicated, help advance Europe's clean energy transition. Particular attention is paid to efforts to advance the gender mainstreaming agenda and support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector.
Anyone in the EU/EEA can submit a recent project (from a local initiative to an industry-wide programme) that helps citizens, industry and the public sector work towards the goals of the European Green Pact.
The finalists are chosen by a high-level jury from a list of the year's most impactful projects and actions for clean, safe and efficient energy, and the winners are decided by an online public vote (from May of 2023).
The three finalists in each award category are invited to the award ceremony on 20 June 2023 in Brussels.
Deadline: 09/02/2023
