Assembly of the Vall de l'Hydrogen de Catalunya

On behalf of Engineers Tarragona, Mr. Joan Gabriel Talarn, vice-dean of the College, attended the Assembly of the members of the Vall de l'Hidrogen de Catalunya, in the auditorium of the Provincial Council of Tarragona.

A strategic country initiative that works to consolidate an integrated ecosystem around the hydrogen value chain. This is considered a vital energy vector to achieve the goal of climate neutrality, in parallel with increasing business competitiveness and improving people's well-being.

The agreement on the Catalan Government's Budget bill for 2023 includes an item of 5 million euros for the creation of the Catalan Center for the Decarbonisation of Industry.

This center, which will be located in Tarragona, will be a space for research and knowledge transfer that brings together and promotes R+D+i activities for the development of those technologies necessary for the decarbonization of industry, especially in the countryside from Tarragona. This entity would complement the Catalan innovation system and other prospective instruments promoted by Catalan, state and European administrations. The aim of the center is to train Catalan industry with technological solutions that allow them to decarbonize their production processes.

The Hydrogen Valley Assembly is currently made up of 236 members, including Engineers Tarragona, of which there are: 161 companies, 42 public bodies, 21 associations and clusters and 12 knowledge and research centres.
