Citizens, companies, entities and administrations who are interested in taking part in it will therefore have an additional seven months to submit their applications, since the deadline for this program to support the electrification of the mobility initially expires on December 31. In Catalonia, the MOVES III program has an allocation of 195 million euros, and it still has a budget available.
The MOVES III program provides aid both for the acquisition of electric vehicles and for the installation of charging infrastructure. The measure, adopted by the Council of Ministers, also introduces changes to the program's regulatory bases . Thus, in the case of companies and public administrations with economic activity, the aid intensity of the charging infrastructure is reduced from 30% to 20%. Likewise, the new bases also introduce the requirement that charging points with powers equal to or less than 22 kW have intelligent functionalities.
In order to try to mitigate this impact in the remaining term of the call, SMEs can from now on indicate in the application whether they comply with the de minimis regulation, and in this way they will not be reduced aid but that it can be increased from 30% to 45%. These modifications introduced by the European institutions do not affect individuals, self-employed persons, communities of owners or public administrations without economic activity.
There are already 77,191 electric vehicles on the road in Catalonia. From January to October, 16,544 vehicle registrations were registered with fully electric or plug-in hybrid engines, as recorded by the ICAEN on its website. It should be noted that the segments of fully electric passenger cars and all-terrain vehicles, as well as the van segment as a whole, have registered significant increases in registrations during this 2023.
