BARCELONA, JULY 29, 2009. More than 80 PROFESSIONAL SCHOOLS in Catalonia have ratified the Common and Cohesion Manifesto against the Omnibus Bill, passed on June 12, and which they will present to the political formations as allegations before September 7 , when the term ends.

The Professional Associations have joined together to deal with the Omnibus Bill, a battery of 47 legal changes that the central government approved last June to adapt Spanish laws to the European Services directive, also regulating the performance of the Colleges and leaving a limited framework to provide coverage and protection to consumers and citizens. With this horizon and through the ratification of the Manifesto, the Catalan Professional Associations claim to maintain their ability to orientate fees, compulsory membership, registration fees, visas and college certifications, as well as not establishing common limits in the professional communication of The different schools.

Among other amendments to the Bill, the Colleges also propose the deletion of Article 5 that modifies multiple aspects of the LAW OF PROFESSIONAL COLLEGES that may involve an "invasion" of the powers transferred to the Autonomous Communities, such as Catalonia, in matters of Professional Colleges

In the Manifesto, the Colleges defend the guarantee of professionalism provided by the association, as well as the role of the Colleges to train and provide services to the different professions.
