EL COGITI CHOOSE IN MARCH OF 2011 THE NEW EXECUTIVE BOARD WITH DEGÀ DEL CETIT AS A VOCAL

On March 26, 2011, elections were held to the Executive Board of the "General Council of Industrial Technical Engineering" (COGITI). Forty thirty of the forty nine schools in Spain chose the new executive that will represent all the colleges of Spain. With the casting of votes, José Antonio Galdón Ruiz, Dean of the College of Murcia, was elected as President and Juan Ignacio Larraz Plo as Vice President. The rest of the positions were: Avelino García García (Secretary); Luis Francisco Pascual Piñeiro (Deputy Secretary); José Mª Manzanares Torné (Treasurer); Gerardo Arroyo Gutiérrez (Interventor); plus the vocals Aquilino de la Guerra Rubio, Domingo Villero Carro, Juan José Cruz García, Juan Ribas Cantero, and Santiago Crivillé i Andreu.

It is necessary to name that the Dean of CETIT, Santiago Crivillé, was the only of the five elected members who had been part of the previous executive. Although the vote is counted by the number of collegiates of each school, the maximum support from the colleges of Spain was obtained, since 31 supported it, with institutional support being shown. The following candidate obtained the support of 22 schools.

José Antonio Galdón, 35, is the youngest President in the history of COGITI. Among his priorities, he emphasized that of promoting the work that professional schools have done for more than 50 years, and, in his words: "to say more clearly than ever we exist and that we are here for something" . The new president emphasized that "we are convinced that our work in society is fundamental and we have tried to convey it from our work in Murcia. It is essential that the group knows what can be achieved from the union and from of common work ".
