Following the challenge by the Council of Colleges of Industrial Technical Engineers of Catalonia
Our group's objections were raised against a decree that established a monopoly that prevented free competition and seriously harmed our professional interests.
The aforementioned official decree 218/2002 of 23 July was published on 14 August 2002 in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat de Catalunya. It had been drafted in collaboration with the professional association of insurance experts and damage adjusters and the Catalan Union of Insurance and Reinsurance Entities. This decree, which was struck down by the highest court in Catalonia, granted the professional association of insurance experts and damage adjusters the status of a representative entity, and demonstrated the will to favour a strictly private entity with discrimination against other representative groups from different professional fields.
