The coming into force of the new Certificate of Energy Efficiency on June 1 motivated this Wednesday the celebration of a special day, convened by the College of Architects, Technical Architects and Building Engineers of Tarragona, the Col • Law of Administrators of Finques de Tarragona and the College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona, which brought together more than 250 people.
The Eutyches Hall of the Palacio de Congresos de Tarragona hosted this event where a dozen speakers, representatives of the three colleges, the autonomous administration, private companies and universities, analyzed the implementation of the new Decree that marks the creation of the Certificate of Energy Efficiency. Among the attendees were the Secretary of Housing and Urban Improvement and President of the Catalan Housing Agency of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Carles Sala; the Deputy Mayor of Labor, Economic Activation and New Technologies of the City Council of Tarragona, Javier Villamayor; or the Head of the Energy Efficiency Unit of the Catalan Energy Institute, Lluis Morer.
All of them, up to a dozen speakers, approached the attendees the tools and utilities to perform the certification, the measures to reduce CO2 emissions, the analysis to know how it will affect the obligation to have the energy label to any offer, promotion and advertising, aimed at the sale or lease of a home or premises, or the formulas to achieve an efficient rehabilitation for a sustainable city. Other issues were also put on the table such as the opportunity for technical building specialists, and new perspectives, to participate in the energy rating process.
The day closed with a roundtable with the questions of the assistants and evidencing that now we must approach the reality of the new Decree and the certification to the society with the maximum proximity. It should be remembered that the obligation to have the certificate has different premises incorporated, both for property owners and tenants of real estate, such as the possibility of receiving subsidies from the Generalitat but also with the warning that they can There are sanctions if you do not have this certification.
The efficiency tag is another step towards better user information when it comes to accessing the home. A complementary measure to a relatively recent one, the implantation of the technical inspection of the buildings, which has been operational since the end of 2010 and with which tenants or buyers will be able to know the general state of the building and the deficiencies that may exist.
The label will be similar to what we currently find in household appliances, and will classify the home based on their energy expenditure. The classification will go from the letter G, which corresponds to a house with a very high cost, to the letter A, the most efficient.
