MEETING OF COLLEGES WITH THE ADVISER OF JUSTICE

The counselor Germà Gordó summoned the professional colleges of Catalonia, among which was attended by CETIT, on July 29, to inform about the imminent exit of the "Law of Services and Professional Associations", which may affect negatively the current "status quo" of the schools. Gordó criticized the centralizing and interventionist spirit of the law, which says: "it invades the powers of the Generalitat."

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Catalan political groups with presence in the Congress of Deputies. Joan Coscubiela (ICV), Joan Tardà (ERC), Àlex Sáez (PSC), Mercè Pigem (CIU), Dolors Montserrat (PP) was the one who broke the fire, detailing the possible schedule. He said that surely on Friday, August 2, the law would come to the council of ministers, and that he could pass to the Congress in early October, by ordinary procedure. According to Montserrat, the law will provide: "transparency, independence and consumer protection" and that the functions of the schools will be clarified and the fit between the autonomous councils and the "general councils" of colleges, among other things.

The rest of the representatives criticized the law from a number of points of view, and they all agreed that with the parliamentary majority of the PP, they could do little to it. However, they offered to collect the amendments that were sent to them from the schools. In the afternoon, the president of the Council of Colleges of Industrial Technical Engineers of Catalonia, Narcís Bartina, said that "we can not renounce the autonomy of the colleges."

The dean of CETIT Santiago Crivillé Andreu made an intervention with the sense of interventionism that the Law means when introducing representatives of the administration within the schools and the incongruity of which the schools have to prove themselves before companies Depending on the ministry, since they are the public law bodies. Among all attendees there was a lot of discomfort, however, it is necessary to wait for what is the final draft that they approve in the council of ministers soon.

The Government of the Popular Party justifies the new law as a requirement of the European Services Directive, which demands a greater liberalization in the services sector and the disappearance of bureaucratic obstacles, this law is already being reinstated in time according to the calendar that marked the law of Professional Services.
