The consensus reached with the social agents in the Social Dialogue Table is exemplified in order to establish minimum health and safety provisions in the construction works.
On May 29, 2006, the BOE published Royal Decree 604/2006 of May 19 that modifies the Regulation of Prevention Services of 1997 (Royal Decrees 39 and 1627) in order to establish minimum security and health in the construction works.
The new regulation first requires cases in which the company's preventive resources must be present in order to verify that preventive activities are carried out effectively and are adequate to combat occupational hazards. The objective is to intensify the preventive measures in those cases that a concentration of greater accidents is detected.
This Royal Decree also defines the activities that will be considered dangerous or with special risks in order to demand more preventive activity from the company, while more serious consequences will be associated in the event of violations being detected. The modification also improves the quality of prevention management systems and perfects the system of audits of preventive activities.
With the approval of this Royal Decree, the consensus reached by the social agents in the Social Dialogue Board is illustrated and a further step is taken in the fight against occupational accidents and the reduction of the number of accidents, those that have more serious consequences.
