Inauguration 2019-20 Course at the ETSE

On October 7 the inauguration of the academic year 2019-2020 took place at the School of Engineering of the URV. Professor Ulises Cortés, professor of the Department of Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), opened the event talking about Artificial Intelligence. Professor Ulises was one of the pioneers in the introduction of the discipline of Artificial Intelligence in Catalonia in the 1980s and was also the director of the PhD program in Artificial Intelligence at the UPC. He is currently coordinator of the Interuniversity Master's in Artificial Intelligence, UPC-URV-UB, and is also one of the founding members of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA).

During the ceremony, Ingenieros Tarragona awarded the double degree student GEE + GEEIiA David Álvarez and the student of the Degree in Industrial Electronics and Automatic Engineering Josep Guasch, who gave Mr. Josep Maria Pàmies Baldris, as Vice-Dean of the CETIT.

Mr. Pàmies, on behalf of CETIT, stressed the importance of being a colleague to carry out the profession, and the support that the College awards during the professional career of the Industrial and Qualification Engineer.

Other professional associations such as the Technical Engineering in Computing of Catalonia, Graduates Technical Engineers of Telecommunications in Catalonia and the one of E nginyers Industrials of Catalonia participated in the event in the demarcation of Tarragona, which also delivered prize to the students with better file. To finish , the ETSE URBOTS students' association was recognized for their participation in the Autonomous Driving Challenge 2018 competition.

At the end, the School invited a glass of cava to all attendees.
