Within the acts of training, culture and leisure; On 13th November 2004 (Saturday), a cultural excursion to different points was organized, where we will visit the following:
COLONIA SEDÓ, ESPARREGUERA - Colònia Sedó, located in the municipal area of Esparreguera, on the right bank of the Llobregat river, distinguishes itself from other colonies due to its large dimensions and the use of a hydraulic system that was used to the maximum the energy of water. The turbine, of 1,400 CV, that gave the necessary energy to the spinning and weaving sections of the factory, was the largest built in Spain. Made entirely of cast iron, its dimensions were proportional to the flow and the strength of the waterfall.
MUSEUM OF ESTAMPATION, PREMIÀ DE MAR - The Premià de Mar Stamping Museum is located in the former gas factory of Premià de Mar. Its main objective is to explain the stamping, as a technique, over time and, especially, the important role of this economic activity as the basis of the industrialization of Catalonia. The Museum is in the process of mounting the permanent exhibition and documentation of the fund, a stage in which it has programmed a series of temporary exhibitions to be able to have open doors and offer a service.
MUSEO DEL SURO, PALAFRUGELL - The Palafrugell Cork Museum preserves, studies and disseminates the cultural and natural heritage related to the cork world in a monographic way. It is the section of the Cork of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia.
The excursion PROGRAM is as follows:
07.30 am Departure by bus from Reus (Passeig Mata, before the residence of the pensioners)
07.50 h Departure by coach from Tarragona, (Plaza Imperial Tàrraco)
09.05 h Technical stop with breakfast time (15 ')
10:00 am Visit to the Colònia Sedó Museum
12.30 am Visit to the Stamping Museum
2:30 pm Lunch at the BARCAROLA Hotel, Sant Feliu de Guíxols (at the time of enrollment, indicate if you want meat or fish in the menu)
4.30 pm Visit to the Cork Museum
6 pm Departure towards Tarragona
8:30 p.m. Arrival at Tarragona (approximately)
20.45 h Arrival at Reus and end of the trip (approximately)
