A CULTURAL VISIT FOR THE LANDS OF LLEIDA has been organized, which will take place on November 8, 2008 (Saturday).
The output program is as follows (approximate timetables):
6.30 am Departure by coach from Tortosa, Mercado del Peix.
7.30 am Departure by coach from Tarragona, Imperial Tarraco Square (opposite the University).
07.45 am Departure by bus from Reus, Paseo Mata (in front of the residence of the pensioners).
08.55 p. Visit Cerámica Sambola, demonstration of the manufacture of black ceramics and typical products of Verdú (30-45 minutes).
10:00 am Exciting visit to the Verdú Toy and Automath Museum (1 hour).
11.30 h Guided tour of La Floresta, Castle and Ice well (1 hour).
1:00 pm Guided tour of the Iberian settlement of Arbeca (1 hour).
14.15 a.m. Lunch at the Masia Salat Restaurant, Les Borges Blanques.
4.45 pm Visit the Thematic Theme Park, Les Borgues Blanques (1 hour).
6.30 pm End of departure. Return with the corresponding stops.
Ceramics Sambola. This visit will allow us to contemplate the manufacture of all kinds of pieces at the wheel (wheel) and its decoration with mineral oxides and incisions, as well as knowing the operation of the ovens and the whole process of ceramics made by hand. The company has a workshop and a small store.
VERDÚ Toy and Automaton Museum, fascinating visit!
An original and attractive place, far from the idea that you have a conventional museum! The museum has four floors and has a total area of 2000 m2. After a lifetime of collectors of antiques, Manel Mayoral wanted to offer a rich and extensive sample composed of about 900 pieces of all kinds. Yes, always with a common denominator: they are objects that remind you of their very existence since being a child, a child who is certainly very observer of everything that surrounded him.
LA FLORESTA Although it is a village of farmers, the stone industry has also had a great resonance. The reduced municipal area of La Floresta (5.69 km2) forms an extended stretch from north to south, on the border with the plain of Urgell. It is 316 meters high, near the torrent of the Femosa and has just 190 inhabitants.
The castle of La Floresta is a construction that consists of two parts: the tower and the building of houses. The Parochial church, built in 1760, is dedicated to Sant Blai and is located in the same building as the castle.
The Pou del Gel dates back to the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries and it is a construction that was completely made of stone and where the snow was kept which, pressed, lasted until well into the good weather. It was exploited by the occupants of the Castle, as a source of income through taxes.
ARBECA. The town of Arbeca is located at the foot of a hill on the top of which are the remains of the ancient and powerful Castle of the Dukes of Cardona, which has its origin in an Arab fortress conquered in the middle of the 12th century The population is being built, dwelling in its surroundings and particularly in the southside, to better capture the joy of sunlight and its warmth.

Theme park of oil.
It is born with the social purpose of favoring the culture associated with the extra virgin olive oil of Les Garrigues. The interior route shows a whole series of rooms that can be seen from the origins of the oil and the elaboration thereof - from the time of the Greeks - to a mill of the XX century still in operation. During the visit, it explains in a very simple way how to harvest olives, the utensils that are used, the existing varieties of olives and a whole host of information referring to the olive oil world. On the outskirts of the Oil Theme Park, we find a paradise of olive trees, among which there are 54 millennia, coming from the Romans's term of Ulldecona (Montsià). Its age has been calculated between 1700 and 2200 years and its variety is "forge". You can also see a collection of presses that reflects all the evolution of the process of extraction and processing of oil from the 5th century BC to the 20th century.
