However, "the successive changes of the Government's criterion and the submission to the most conservative universities, and their immobility, have ultimately led to a situation characterized by the breakdown of negotiations and dialogue with the Ministry and which, successively, are being approved by titles that do not respond even to the own legal and normative criteria of the Government itself and the Ministry of Education, "explained the president of the General Council of Industrial Technical Engineers and vice president of init, Vicente Martinez.
INIT hopes that this situation will change as of now, after the meeting that Martinez, accompanied by several representatives of the INIT, maintained in the Ministry of Education with the general director of University Policy, Juan José Moreno, to which He was given a manifesto with the demands, at the end of the demonstration.
Init claims
Technical Engineering considers several premises essential:
- Degree degrees must be of a general nature.
- The name of the titles must have a clear reference to the name of the branch of the Engineering to which they belong.
- The competences and abilities to acquire with the degrees of Degree must be sufficient to carry out professional activities of a general nature in their field.
- The Masters in Engineering must be aimed at a specific specialization and oriented towards the development of the Master's own abilities without overlapping the competences acquired in the ministerial orders. It is not possible that 60 credits of a Master's degree can be covered by all the competences assigned in the ministerial orders.
- Access to the Master's Degree must be direct without the need for complementary training.
