The demonstration held on February 20 in Madrid, convened by the Institute of Technical Engineers of Spain (INITE), seems "to have removed" the conscience of the director of University Policy, Juan José Moreno.
As we have already informed, Vicente Martínez, vice president of INITE and president of the General Council of Industrial Technical Engineers , delivered to Moreno (at the end of the event) the statement that all the technical Engineering's demands regarding the adaptation of the Degrees in the European Higher Education Area.
At the end of this meeting, held in the Ministry of Education, Vice President of INITE expressed his "satisfaction" by the director of University Policy to "dialogue and study" their demands.
In this sense, Moreno has indicated his intention to accept that the Evaluation Commissions for the titles of the ANECA ( National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation ) have a representative of the technical engineers. This is one of the historical demands that INITE had been demanding since the process of implementation of the new Degree certificates began.
Juan José Moreno has also committed himself to establishing reasonable criteria when it comes to checking the proposals that universities make about degrees, to have a logical basis in the aforementioned ANECA commissions.
On the other hand, it has accepted the proposal of INITE regarding the fact that the Degrees are oriented to a general education, and the masters to a specialist.
Also, a Royal Decree will be developed for the step of the technical engineer in the degree that takes into account the professional experience, the draft will be displayed in INITE before the approval of the same.
In short, as Vicente Martínez stated, "a dialogue channel is opened for all those proposals presented by init, mainly as regards the name of the degrees of Grau".
