The organization that represents the professional associations and the union has planned the possible social-labor effects that the application of the Omnibus Law would have.
Unión Profesional y UGT provided information and arguments about the negative effects of visa suppression:
From the labor point of view the Law would have more detrimental effects than beneficial since the current visa system provides mutual security from the point of view of the professional act.
The technical and legal security that gives the visa goes beyond the two directly involved agents (professional and client) and extends to the workers of the project, to the citizens and to the own administrations responsible for the granting of the licenses.
The abolition of visas could weaken the control exercised by schools on professionals and their exercise and would cause uncontrolled consequences unpredictable.
Likewise, both organizations shared their conversations with the Platform of Workers of Professional Associations, who expressed their concern about the high unemployment rate that would be made among the workers of the colleges.
Both entities agreed that it is urgent to act as soon as possible and felt it appropriate to request a meeting with the Minister of Economy as well as involve the Council of Consumers and Users in this matter.
