Conference on projects in developing countries: Andean zone
On the occasion of the recent formation of the Tarragona Association of Engineering Without Borders (ESF), which also celebrates this year's 15th anniversary of its foundation, a talk of presentation of the entity will be held in order to invite the engineers and engineers from the demarcation of Tarragona to collaborate. The members of the College of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia and the College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona are invited.
The structure of the talk will be:
- General presentation of Engineering Without Borders
- Projects in developing countries: Andean zone
- Peru Training Center for Renewable Energies (CEDECAP)
- Specific demonstration projects (empowerment, photovoltaic, wind, hydroelectric ...)
- Impact of extractive industries
The energy helps to guarantee the provision of potable water and sanitation, education, health, economic development, etc. It is situated in the first place as a strategy to reduce poverty and improve the quality of life index. In Peru, there is a social and environmental conflict over the control, exploitation and use of natural resources. Ingeniería Sin Fronteras is working to promote access to renewable energies by the communities and, in the North, achieve a change in energy model based on the extraction and massive use of fossil fuels that causes serious problems in the South.
