The Library of Catalonia promotes a project for the preservation, dissemination and recovery of the digital heritage of Catalonia (Padicat).
This Padicat project consists in the compilation, preservation and open access to digitally published documents that are representative of Catalan culture and society.
The Padicat project is carried out in collaboration with those institutions, organizations or entities that generate digital content.
Pacts:
First The purpose of this agreement is to establish the terms of the collaboration between the Library and the CETIT to carry out the Padicat project.
Second. The Library of Catalonia will manage the platform, technological tools and the personnel for the creation and maintenance of the Padicat.
Third. CETIT will be able to provide its own resources or digital resources when significant changes occur, or notify these changes to enable automatic capture, which is expected in a minimum of two annual catches. In the case of daily changes, the frequency of delivery of daily resources will be determined.
Fourth CETIT will provide sufficient information regarding the identification of the resource that it deposits, whether by metadata or other languages, only if it is required by the Library of Catalonia.
Fifth. CETIT will provide sufficient information regarding the format of the resource it submits, including programming languages, typology of non-standard files, etc.
Sixth The CETIT authorizes to keep the resource deposited.
Seventh CETIT authorizes the transformation of the deposited files that can be carried out from the technical services of the Library of Catalonia with the aim of preserving the content and the original form of the resource.
Eighth. The CETIT authorizes the publication of the entirety of the resource kept open and online.
Ninth CETIT will be able to identify the current virtual resource with the "Padicat" stamp, which certifies the desire of the institution to contribute to the preservation of the digital heritage of Catalonia, and that for its features and contents is part of this collection .
Tenth The Library of Catalonia will provide a simple way, without any economic cost to the CETIT to make the deposit with the agreed periodicity.
Eleventh The Library of Catalonia will facilitate the professional treatment of the data related to the identification of the resource that is deposited.
Twelfth. The Library of Catalonia will preserve in the measure of the technological possibilities the preservation in the form and content of the resources deposited, using the tools and the techniques that it has to reach for this purpose.
Thirteenth. The Biblioteca de Catalunya will provide CETIT through the presence of the URL of the current resource along with the resources available, and others will strengthen the visibility of the cooperation that is agreed upon.
Fourteenth. The duration of this agreement is four years, counting from the time of its signature, and will be understood renewed annually in the month of December of each year. At any time the parties may terminate their validity by mutual agreement.
