The Generalitat has approved a decree law that empowers employers and self-employed people, who carry out their activity in a space under a lease, to negotiate with the landlord a reduction in the rental price.
The aim is to prevent the closure of companies and the destruction of jobs, so only those who, due to the measures imposed in the fight against Covid-19, have had to close or reduce the its activity.
Highlights of the decree law
- The reduction in the temporary rental price must be established by mutual agreement.
- If the agreement is not possible the rule sets a 50 percent discount on the rental price while the business is closed.
- The discount will be applied from the moment the tenant gives the landlord the will to negotiate.
What if my business is not closed, but I have partially restricted activity? .
