CETIT already has a .cat domain since last August 2006

You can now access the College website at www.cetit.cat . This new domain is added to .org and .es that are still operational.


In this way, the College of Industrial Technical Engineers of Tarragona adds to a new communication space that supports and promotes the existence of a linguistic and cultural community of its own.

All the collegiate members also have the option of having their own mailbox with the email address that the school offers with the domain @ cetit.cat.

The .cat domain is a generic domain such as .com or .org, but with restricted access to the Catalan language and cultural community on the Internet. It was approved by ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) on September 16, 2005 and did not appear on the Internet until December 22. The PuntCAT Foundation has received more than 10,000 applications during the initial phase and at the beginning of the open phase there were already more than 3,000 active domains, which, according to Google, served a total of 1,500,000 web plans on 21 December, April 2006. At the end of July they surpassed the 15,000 domains and the 3 million web pages.
